Service Policy
How Zergo works with you — from first contact through certificate delivery.
1. Our Role
Zergo operates as your NBTC certification manager, not a legal representative or importer of record. We handle the full application lifecycle — documentation preparation, submission, and all NBTC communication — so you can focus on your product and business.
We are a regulatory specialist firm, not a general consultancy. Our work is execution-focused: preparing complete, accurate applications and managing them through to approval.
2. Scope of Work
What is included in the core certification service
- Review of your technical documentation against NBTC requirements
- Preparation of the complete application package
- Submission to NBTC, using either our in-house or your appointed local representative
- All communication with NBTC throughout the review process
- Delivery of the final approval document and certification number
What is not included
- Product testing. Test reports must be obtained from an accredited laboratory before engagement. We can advise on applicable test standards during a Pre-Submission Review or Regulatory Consultation.
- Post-certification compliance. Label procurement, importer obligations, and ongoing regulatory compliance after approval are outside the service scope.
- Importation or customs clearance. Zergo does not act as an importer, freight forwarder, or customs agent.
- NBTC fees. Official NBTC government fees are payable separately and are not included in Zergo's service fee.
3. How Engagement Works
Initial inquiry
Submit your inquiry via the contact page. Provide your device type, key technical specifications (frequency bands, transmit power, wireless standard), and intended use in Thailand. The more detail you include, the faster we can respond.
Scope confirmation
We review your inquiry and confirm the applicable certification path — SDoC, Class A (Registration), or Class B (Certification) — along with the required documents and an estimated timeline. If your situation requires a closer review before we can confirm, we will recommend a Pre-Submission Review or Regulatory Consultation first.
Engagement and document collection
Once scope is agreed, we issue an engagement confirmation and begin document collection. You provide the technical documentation; we review it for completeness and alignment with the applicable NBTC technical standard before proceeding to preparation.
Application preparation and submission
We prepare the full application package and submit to NBTC. All correspondence with NBTC — including responses to queries and preliminary approval coordination — is handled by Zergo. You will be kept informed of progress and notified of any NBTC requests for additional information.
Certificate delivery
Upon approval, we deliver the official approval document and certification reference number. For Class A and Class B approvals, we will also advise on the NBTC label requirement. The file is yours to retain as the official record of approval.
4. Local Representative
NBTC Class A (Registration) and Class B (Certification) applications require a local representative — a Thailand-registered juristic person holding an NBTC trade license and NBTC Supplier Code. This is a regulatory filing requirement, not a service role.
Zergo can act as the local representative for your application, or we can file using a representative you have already appointed. In either case, Zergo handles all application preparation, submission, and NBTC communication.
Acting as local representative covers the filing requirement only. It does not make Zergo accountable for post-certification compliance obligations, which remain with you as the manufacturer or importer.
SDoC (Supplier's Declaration of Conformity) applications do not require a local representative.
5. Add-on Services
Two structured add-on services are available before or alongside a core certification engagement.
Pre-Submission Review
USD 150 / reviewA document completeness and test standard alignment check before submission. We review what you have, identify gaps, and confirm whether your documentation is ready to proceed. The fee is deductible from the core service fee if you proceed with a full certification engagement.
Regulatory Consultation
USD 200 / sessionA structured session for questions about certification paths, applicable standards, or product-specific regulatory questions. You submit your technical specifications in advance; we prepare and deliver a structured response. The fee is deductible from the core service fee if you proceed with a full certification engagement.
6. Timeline Expectations
The timelines below are estimates from the point of submission to NBTC and apply when documentation is complete at the time of submission.
| Certification Type | Estimated Timeline | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| SDoC | ~1 week | From submission to SDoC document and reference number |
| Class A (Registration) | ~5 weeks | From submission to Certificate of Registration and Registration Number |
| Class B (Certification) | ~6 weeks | From submission to Approval Certificate and Approval Number |
Timelines are estimates only. NBTC processing times may vary. Delays caused by incomplete documentation, NBTC requests for additional information, or factors outside our control will extend the timeline.
7. Client Responsibilities
To proceed efficiently, you are responsible for:
- Providing accurate and complete technical documentation, including test reports from an accredited laboratory
- Responding to requests for additional information or clarification in a timely manner
- Ensuring that the product submitted for certification accurately represents what will be sold or imported into Thailand
- Payment of applicable NBTC government fees, separate from Zergo's service fee
- Post-certification obligations, including NBTC label procurement (Class A and B) and ongoing compliance
8. Confidentiality
All technical documentation and business information you share with Zergo is treated as confidential and used solely for the purpose of preparing and managing your NBTC certification application. We do not share client information with third parties except as required to fulfil the engagement (e.g., submission to NBTC).
