RC Model Controller NBTC Certification
RC model controllers — handheld transmitters used to operate radio-controlled aircraft, cars, boats, and other models — require Class A (Registration) from the NBTC before they can be sold in Thailand. All RC model controller certifications fall under the Radio Model Control application operating in the 72 MHz band.
Certification Requirements
The NBTC classifies RC model controllers under a single application with no power- or frequency-based splits. Class A registration is required regardless of transmit power within the permitted maximum.
| Application | Frequency Range | Max Transmit Power | Certification | Standard |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Radio Model Control | 72–72.475 MHz | 750 mW (rated carrier) | Class A | NTC TS 007-2548 |
What This Covers
The Radio Model Control application covers dedicated RC transmitter units operating in the 72 MHz band. Typical products include:
- Handheld RC transmitters (2-channel to 16-channel and above)
- RC aircraft controllers (fixed-wing, gliders, helicopters)
- RC car and boat transmitters
- Surface vehicle controllers operating in the designated band
Required Documents
- Technical specification / datasheet with wireless communication details
- Product photographs (exterior and label)
- Test report from an accredited laboratory outside Thailand
- ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation certificate and laboratory scope
