SDoC
Bluetooth Device NBTC Certification
Bluetooth devices sold or imported into Thailand require NBTC approval before they can be placed on the market. Bluetooth operates within the 2400–2500 MHz non-specific band, and all compliant devices follow the SDoC (Supplier's Declaration of Conformity) path — the most straightforward NBTC approval category, with an estimated processing time of approximately one week from submission.
Certification Requirements
| Frequency Band | Max Transmit Power | Certification | Technical Standard |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2400–2500 MHz | 100 mW eirp | SDoC | Announcement regarding equipment permitted for general use |
Bluetooth operates within the 2400–2483.5 MHz portion of the 2400–2500 MHz non-specific band. This band covers a wide range of short-range wireless technologies including Bluetooth, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), and Zigbee, all of which follow the same SDoC path under NBTC regulations.
Covered Device Types
Any product with Bluetooth or BLE connectivity falls under this certification path, regardless of primary function. Common examples include:
- Wireless headsets, earbuds, and speakers
- Bluetooth keyboards, mice, and game controllers
- Smartwatches and fitness trackers
- Smart home devices (locks, sensors, lighting controllers)
- Medical wearables and patient monitoring devices
- Industrial wireless sensors and asset tracking tags
- Bluetooth modules embedded in larger products
Required Documents
- Technical specifications and product datasheet
- Product photographs (exterior and labelling)
- Test report from an accredited laboratory
- Authorised declaration (signed by the manufacturer or authorised representative)
Estimated Timeline
